Snow in October

I awoke last night about 1:30 a.m.

and looked out the window.

SNOW!?!

Really, in October?

Braelyn came home from school
yesterday announcing it was going to snow
and she needed a warm coat.

I am so glad I listened.
Brae and I both got new coats last night.

This morning was very crisp and cold.
This afternoon as I was driving home after
picking Braelyn up from school it was 35 degrees.



I am just wondering if this is a sign of what's to
come this winter.





It was beautiful this morning.

If it's going to be COLD
it might as well be
beautifully white and COLD!

Snowflake 9th ward First Annual All-Ward Invitational Adult-Only Pinewood Derby

Our ward had an Adult only Pinewood Derby.

Super fun and funny!

Jeremy and I made a pinewood derby car.

Actually Jeremy did.

I talked to the other wives.

The men took this a bit serious.

We had an hour to make the car.

Jeremy working hard.

I tried to help but I wasn't sanding the wheels right

so I let Jeremy take over.

Dave Bowman who draws fun church books for

children decided to make a car that looked

like our insurance agent Joe Bjorn.

It was funny watching the car try to

make it's way down the track.

I did contribute.

Visit the Brinkerhoff's

In the middle of September Jeremy and I felt

a need to go somewhere.

But where?

Jeremy suggested going to Tucson to visit

my brother Fletcher, Becca and my nephew Bjorn.

I thought that was a great idea.

Of course.

It always makes me grateful that Jeremy likes

my family.

It makes things easy because I love to hang out with

my family.

I called my brother and made sure they were going to be

there and we went Conference weekend.

We made plans to go to the

Sonoran Desert Museum.

I haven't been there since I was in 6th grade.

And to also go to Southwest Strings.

I decided to buy a new violin.

Yeah!

So here are some pictures from the museum.

This is Bjorn.

He is a big boy.

I hadn't seen this guy since his blessing in February.

My brother blogs so I feel like I have seen Bjorn a lot.

Funny foxes love their blankies too!

We enjoyed looking at all the animals.

Braelyn found it interesting.

Which makes me glad.

She said
"Look, that's a big spare-a-kiss (asparagus)!"
You would need a gallon of bernaise sauce to eat that thing.
It actually does look like one.

We stopped at the snack shop for some ice cream.

She had so much fun with him.

She loves babies.

They have a hummingbird atrium.

They have feeders everywhere.

They have a few species of them there.

It's amazing how fast they are.

One about clipped my head with it's wing.

I felt the whooosh of air as it zipped by.

We had such a great time visiting.

Only bad thing is you have to leave.

Braelyn was sad to go.

She cried some tears all the way home.

She used to only want a sister now she has changed

her mind and has decided that a brother would

be funner.

Fall and Remembrance

Fall blew in today.

It's been chilly and a bit windy.

As I put up my fall wreath I had forgotten for a moment

where I had got it.

Then I remembered.

How time flies.

And Heals.

My Dad passed away a year ago.

I remember not wanting to leave his graveside.

All the beautiful flowers that were alive, sitting on top of his grave.

The wreath was there.

I took it.

October 8th is when he passed and I thought about

it for a moment and went on with my day

not pondering too much.

Days later.

I was sitting with Jeremy talking.

And Jeremy was looking at a scrapbook and said to Braelyn

There you are with Papa.

It was a picture of Braelyn at the foot of my Dad's

bed.

Braelyn spent many an hour there.

Braelyn liked to watch cooking shows with him.

Then it brought memories to my mind about his

last day.

It's weird how for a moment I felt those agonizing, surreal

moments again.

Then I remember how grateful I was to have a

wonderful family.

My Dad's last year really brought my family together.

Then I think h0w grateful I am to have Jeremy as my husband

and Braelyn as my daughter.

They gave sooo much to let me take care of my Dad.

It was time consuming.

They never ever complained.

It really brought me closer to my sister.

My sister Paisley taught me how to take care of my Dad.

Many times over the phone we would say to eachother

I don't know if I can do this.

There has to be someone better than

me to take care of Dad.

Then we would cheer the other on.

Laugh, cry and encourage the other.

My sister and I dealt with personal things during

that time also.

Loss of pregnancies. Infertility.

We some how managed.

The angels were with us.

The Lord was with us and carried us and I know it.

I know it...

These are the hats that Brae has made every

Friday for the past month.

It cracks me up to see so many little kids with their

little hats on.

I am so glad she loves kindergarten sooo much!


Jeremy, Brae and I were in the car and Braelyn
tells us how she is doing the monkey bars at school.
She goes on to say how difficult they are
and that her friend said to her
"You can't do the monkey bars and I can."
Brae is telling us this and she said what should I say
back when she hurts my feelings.
Jeremy told her to say.
"Not my fault you are part monkey!"
I jumped in and said "Don't say that"
Brae said "That's not nice daddy."
I can just imagine what Jeremy was like as a kid.
Actually I don't imagine I live in his hometown and I
am constantly told

"Your married to Jeremy Brimhall??"
Then they laugh and always have a story to tell.

Meet Chip and Dale

These little guys have been living in our backyard

for the past few months.
I told Braelyn that they were
Chip and Dale.
You know
Chip and Dale
from the cartoons.
We have all those old cartoons and every night
before Braelyn goes to bed she always
likes me to tell her an adventure of
Chip and Dale.



It's fun to watch them.
I think we counted five total that live in our piles of block.
They go from one pile of block to another.


Aren't they so CUTE!

Only bad thing about these little guys
is they love my
STRAWBERRIES.
They check everyday to see if they
are ready to steal off my plant.
They always get there before I do.

Braelyn and I have maybe ate 5

strawberries

off our plant.

They are so cute though.
